The adventure of Quays!?
So I got told of a job opening last night, since I was excited to apply I decided I would drive to this mysterious place called Quays, and take my friend who was also dropping an application in. Anyway, so I set off late as usual, and headed for the place where I thought the place was. However, I was re-directed by my co-driver to go to a place where I was sure this place wasn’t.
Anyway to cut the boring part out, we drove to Mc Donald’s Port Talbot looking for a huge building called Quays. If anyone lives in Port Talbot you’ll know that no such place exists in the Port Talbot area. We ended up turning round and coming back on our selves, only to find a 18 wheeler coming towards us. Now, I had a concrete barrier to the left of me and this monster to the right, and it was getting very close. You could just imagine my scared expression as the lorry near missed my little car, especially after I spent all weekend renovating the paintwork! However, no war wounds or scars left, only mental ones!
To continue; it turns out it was in the place I first though. The funny thing is that the woman that gave us directions clearly told us it was in Port Talbot, but it was so obvious that it wasn’t. Maybe she didn’t know where she was in order for us to get there. Maybe her employer kept her in a dark room with no map, with only a little hole for food and water to be passed through. Yes, maybe we did get directions from a social recluse, or maybe she was just that stupid and all she could say was “Left, Roundabout and Mc Donald’s”. But in the end we got there with no help from the woman giving us directions!
A tip for the future, google the business before leaving, it will save your car from lorries encounters, and what ever you do don’t trust anyone with the name Dawn who works in Quays, because she hasn’t a clue where she it! How will she get home?!
